Israel The Occupier

(Newser) – Israel pushed ahead with its military operation in Gaza today, despite a unanimous Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire. On the 14th day of the offensive, warplanes bombed the outskirts of Gaza City and tanks shelled a house in the north of the Strip, killing six Palestinians from the same family. Israel may call in reservists for a new, third phase of the operation that would target Hamas guerrillas in urban areas.

Tzipi Livni, the Israeli foreign minister, indicated that she would not heed the UN measure, saying, "Israel has acted, is acting and will act only according to its considerations." The UN continued today to suspend its humanitarian activities in Gaza, after one of its drivers was killed in an Israeli attack. Hamas claims that the Palestinian death toll has reached 783, of whom more than a third are children, while Israel said militants fired four rockets into the country today.

Israel the occupier continues its onslaught of the innocent while the world does nothing. What's interesting is that Bush has barely said a word on the crisis. Almost makes me thinks it was planned....
